Hi, I'm Emily!
I'm a passionate graphic designer based in Vancouver, BC.
I've had a passion for design ever since I was young, where creating cover art for my mix tapes ignited the spark in me to become a designer. This led me to pursue art and design in my education, where I graduated from the IDEA Design and Illustration program at Capilano University in 2008. Shortly after graduating, I had my first grown-up job: Junior Designer at my beloved Vancouver Canucks, At the time I described it as 'my dream job'.
With my experience at the Canucks under my belt, I spent time as the lead designer in two-year stints at both Veterinary Practice Solutions and Cansel Survey Equipment, where I worked directly with the latter's seventeen offices across Canada.
From there, in an effort to broaden my horizons and reacquaint myself with my roots, I spent the next three years in London, England. The life I led in London's East End was a constant source of inspiration. Being surrounded by art and getting to know several street artists allowed me to grow both as an artist and as a person. I was able to literally leave my mark in Shoreditch, as I had the opportunity of doing a commissioned hand-painted storefront - another dream of mine.
Upon returning home to Vancouver, I quickly found work as an in-house designer and art director at The Concosts Group, later rebranded as KaiserLanden, in the CSI Creative department at the company - the latter two brands I took a lead role in developing. What followed was the most creative era of my professional life - having the opportunity to work on a myriad of different projects, including leading the design of multiple real estate developments valued at 100s of millions of dollars, and designing over 85 unique logos for clients in a number of different backgrounds.
In the years since my departure from CSI Creative, I have spent time developing my personal freelance brand Hello Emily and helping exceed my clients expectations with my vision for good clean design.
Feel free to reach out if you’d like to work together.
