Vancouver Canucks (NHL)
My first design position after graduating was working as a Junior Designer for the Vancouver Canucks. I worked on multiple projects for the company inside their Creative Services department.
The 2008-09 Canucks Media Guide was my first large-scale project lead for the Canucks. One of the team’s most valuable resources, this 270-page book contains a complete history of the franchise, along with player profiles and extensive statistics.
One of the many perks of working at the Canucks was the opportunity to work on various monthly desktop wallpapers. Often a fan favourite, these wallpapers were created in various sizes in order to fit the viewer’s desktop or mobile resolution and were available for download directly from canucks.com.
Following his retirement from hockey in 2008, the Canucks honoured Trevor Linden by retiring his jersey number 16 in a ceremony later that year. To mark this honour, the Canucks Team Store sold special limited edition memorabilia. These collectibles included a commemorative puck, mini-stick, and t-shirt.
The Gate 16 interior wall installation is a visual timeline telling the story of hockey and our team in Vancouver. It is located at the entrance to the Vancouver Canucks “cathedral of hockey” at Rogers Arena in Vancouver. This was by far the most prominent project that I worked on. I was the lead designer on the project and also benefited from the input of other designers on the team.
